Pisco Sours: by way of Lima and Chicago

Categories: Travel

My trip to Lima, Peru and then on to Machu Picchu and Cusco was one of the most amazing, memorable and visually stunning trips of my life.   More on that later but first we drink!!  Have you had a Pisco Sour?  If not, you gotta try one. It is the National drink of Peru and it is served everywhere as a refreshing Summer cocktail.  It is both sweet and sour. Made up of key lime juice, ice, egg white, Angostura bitters and Peruvian Pisco (the base liquor) it is whipped until frothy. Wow!  Delicious!!  First picture is the Pisco Sour I shared with my friend Christy on the final night of our trip in Lima at a must-visit restaurant on the ocean called La Rosa Nautica and then the next Pisco Sour is a fantastic one on the new cocktail menu at West Loop spot, Fulton Market Kitchen.  Cheers!!
