It may be the nicest restaurant I’ve been to IN an AIRPORT! The next time you fly through Atlanta International airport, you have to make “One Flew South” in the international terminal a dining destination. Their tag line is “the first upscale dining experience in the world’s busiest airport”. With a truly zen atmosphere, One Flew South is an upscale sushi bar and Asian fusion restaurant with an emphasis on fine wines and upscale cocktails. Finding a good spot to eat in an airport is actually getting easier these days….with many Top Chefs investing in spaces in airports across the country and putting an emphasis on a great meal on your next layover. Rick Bayless has done an amazing job in Chicago’s O’Hare airport with his Frontera Grill and outposts of Wolfgang Puck’s dining empire can be found in airports across the country. BUT this one really stands out! I ordered a glass of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, a sushi roll, and a duck confit sandwich. I also split a gorgeous and refreshing watermelon salad with blue cheese, peanuts and mint with my traveling companion Lindsay. Amazing!! Oh and I was in and out of the restaurant in 41 minutes…so take your rollaway carry-on and GO during your next layover!
