View from Highway 1 to Big Sur

This year I wanted to spend my birthday in a place I’ve never been and have only read and dreamed about: Big Sur, California! It is no doubt one of the most naturally beautiful spots in our country located along Highway One in Northern California. I also knew we could sneak a few days in to San Francisco (foodie destination) on the back end of the trip.   With lunch stops in Carmel and Monterrey, our Big Sur adventure was a great quick getaway that I highly recommend (Thurs-Sun) We stayed at The Post Ranch Inn which is a once in a lifetime experience. With only 39 guest rooms and jaw-dropping views of the Pacific Ocean, the Post Ranch Inn is a truly serene and idyllic location and screams “special occasion”.   There was no television in the room which greatly upset my husband! What?! No Pawn Stars or Chasing Classic Cars? Honestly no entertainment can outshine the gorgeous view and working fireplaces in the room in my opinion. If you are looking for a place to find your center amidst great beauty this is THE place for you. Infinity hot-tubs and pool, along with nature walks and complimentary walking stick (really?!), daily yoga, and a delicious complimentary breakfast are just some of the perks of this truly special destination. www.postranchinn.com

The property has been in the Post family since 1850 when they homesteaded this unbelievable piece of land.

Next stop: San Francisco!
