After a rain soaked whirlwind 48 hours in LA, I am home. I don’t get to Los Angeles very often but when I do I really love my time there. It always feels like a strange land with the perpetual sunshine, palm trees, and Spanish-style homes. This trip it drizzled on and off the entire time. In fact, the only time the sun came out was when I was in line to board the plane home. Go Figure! I stayed with my dear friend Erin in West Hollywood and her daughter Astor who is an adorable almost 3 year old. On Saturday, I attended Oprah’s Super Soul Sessions which is a day long event held at UCLA featuring speakers from Cheryl Strayed to India.Arie to Eckhart Tolle. Talk about food for thought! Each speaker had a different theme but at the heart of every one of them was the idea of working hard at being more of yourself. Keepin’ it real!..as it turns out is a life-long journey but perhaps one of the greatest journeys you can take. I started this blog two years ago to write about places and things and ideas that I really love. What I’ve learned is when you focus on what you really love, more of that shows up in your life…in different forms. My favorite part of the trip was running the streets of Los Angeles seeing perfectly grown roses in people’s front yards. It was so amazing. Where I come from (Massachusetts), roses only grow in June-July and it’s hard to get a few perfect roses. In LA….there are so many opportunities to stop and smell the roses….and so I did. Carpe Diem people! Looking forward to my next trip to the strange land that is LA! Here are a few pics from the trip….
