Growing up Irish Catholic South of Boston,  I rarely had a chance to eat Jewish food and by rarely I mean NEVER but when I moved to NYC in Spring of 2006 I absolutely fell in love with the classics that are in almost every Jewish deli…pastrami on rye, latkes, matzo ball soup, knishes, kugel, bagels with cream cheese and lox and chopped liver. YES I LOVE CHOPPED LIVER.  I said it. So on a recent trip to the city I made a point of trying Kutsher’s, a new Tribeca spot that promises Jewish comfort food.  It is a foodie’s take on Jewish classics and it did NOT disappoint.  From Mrs K’s matzo ball soup, to a Latke bar where you can add your own schmear such as smoked salmon and dill creme fraiche to house cured bacon and fried egg, this is a great, casual brunch spot!  I ordered the reuben and it is a sandwich to die for.  I am salivating as I write this. My husband had the french toast and it was decadently presented with whipped cream and strawberries.  This is a destination and I will be back.  kutsherstribeca.com
