Barcelona - Hotel 1898 RooftopOh my. Not sure where to begin. From the gorgeous Gaudi architecture, to the tree-lined Las Ramblas, to the food, Barcelona needs to move up on your travel bucket list. Oh the tapas. Everywhere you look. It is so delicious. Barcelona is one of my favorite cities in the world and I am so happy to be returning here for another adventure. And let me state for the record, October 30 is THE perfect time to come. You could be wearing Summer or Fall clothes and be fine. It is 68-73 degrees temperature and the sun is shining.   Our first full day in Barcelona was a chance to tackle some of the key Guadi destinations. For those of you not familiar, Antonio Gaudi was one of THE most creative, innovative and distinctive architects and artists of his time. His fingerprints are all over the city with his signature buildings that look like he was tripping on acid or definitely in a surreal dream like state. They are incredible!! La Pedrera was our first stop as well as Parc Guell . You cannot come to Barcelona and not make one of Guadi’s homes-buildings on your to-do list.La Pedrera

Spain has some of the best food on the planet. Period. And the tapas and options are everywhere. From Jamon Iberico to Patatas Bravas to Croquettes to the Paella…the small plates are a great way to feed a family or a large group….ordering many options and sampling along the way.   Barcelona is a GREAT shopping city along the Las Ramblas and all of the subsequent side streets. The last time I came to Barcelona I stayed at Hotel 1898 and the rooftop bar is NOT to be missed. It is the best place to be at sunset for a sangria and some appetizers. The Sangria is amazing. It was especially a good spot because Jack loved the music and the couches so he could crawl around and enjoy the Barcelona beat. He’s loving Barcelona and Barcelona is loving him.Tapas for lunch!

This time we stayed in an apartment at Daily Flats Barcelona. For 135 a night, we had two rooms, two bathrooms and a kitchen and living area. We also had a balcony. And we had an all important washer. No dryer. Perfect for cleaning Jack’s clothes….this is a long trip y’all…..had to go old-school for finishing the laundry!!
