What a way to see the city!!
From a double-decker tour bus, to the architectural boat tour, to the historical walking tour, to just hoofing it around on foot solo, there are SO many wonderful ways to not only see and enjoy Chicago but also to learn great tidbits of the politics, the architecture, and the history that makes Chicago so awesome. Having said that, you will find no COOLER way of seeing the city than by KAYAK on a beautiful day. Today was one of those days!! You can rent kayaks on the Southeast side of the Chicago River past Michigan avenue take the stairs down on to lower Wacker drive and walk towards Lake Michigan and you will find single and double kayaks for rent by the hour. I found an hour a perfect amount of time but if you are a serious kayaker and more athletic than I am you may want to rent it for longer so you can also explore the branches of the River and really take your time. The cost is 30 bucks an hour for a single kayak. For more information and pricing as well as guided kayak tours, take a look at Urban Kayaks. You will not regret it!!
