If you are looking for a unique place to go shopping for the holidays, you definitely need to make the flagship Restoration Hardware and Three Arts Club Cafe a destination. I am in love with this building and it’s incredible history. In 1914, this building was a dormitory for young women studying music, drama, and the visual arts. It was one of only a handful around the country specifically devoted to and for women. Restoration Hardware purchased the building and renovated it. It is located in the 1300 block of North Dearborn and you are mostly in the midst of a residential block. From the second you walk in, you do NOT feel like you are in a store but a beautifully designed home that happens to include 70-000 square feet of space. It is a Restoration Hardware unlike no other. Then, in the middle of it, under a beautiful glass atrium is the Three Arts Club cafe which offers great lunch options…salads, burgers, soup….I had the grilled cheese which was amazing. As you wander the six floors of impeccably designed space, you cannot help but be inspired by the location and design and the peeks of Chicago cityscapes you see from every window. I especially love the children’s floor which showcases room after room of any child’s dream bedroom or any parent’s dream nursery. It is just so beautiful. I went with my Mum and we left in awe….
